Winter's Verge Forum

If some of you are new in the forum world, here some important tips.

Let's get right through it then! First of all find a Section you would like to post or make a new topic.
We choose the new topic button
Now let's get you familiar with the Reply box.

Write down Winter's Verge and highlight it=
Now press the 3 buttons and be sure your word is been highlighted=

your word should be like this now=


That will appear the word as Bold/Italic/Underlined=Winter's Verge

Good
Now be sure is highlighted again and let's use the other three boxes=

Having highlighted your word expand the Font button and choose Tahoma=

Expand the Text Size and choose medium=

and to add some flavor (remember always the word should be highlighted) expand the Text Color and select Beige=

Now you should have this=


All this will appear the word as Bold/Italic/Underlined/Tahoma Fonts/Medium Size/colorized as Beige:

Now let's Leave alone the Winter's Verge word, press Enter couple of times and write down Eternal. We are now explain the use of those boxes=


The first three buttons is simple alignment on the Left (default),Center and Right.
Highlight the word Eternal and press the Align text to the middle button=

Your word is been now Aligned to the Center:

Now about the other two buttons click the
A new box will pop-up write on it something for example: Love

Press Ok, the box will reappear now write Hate, press Ok and again the Box will come again, but now just press cancel or X.
This will appear=

This function is making a nice numeric order:

1. Love
2. Hate
   

This button acts exactly in the same way, but instead of numeric order you have dot's.

• Love
• Hate
  

Before we move on and explain the rest of our buttons let's have a fast tutorial in the URL world. Open a new window and enter into this site. Imageshack allows the user to upload an image/avatar/photo/banner into a free URL address so you can use the link for your own purposes, usually for Forums and Websites.

1)Browse into your Pc and Open an image/photo etc. Prefer something small so it will not take much time to be uploaded. After you Open the file simply press Host it! and wait.
*Have in mind that digital photos often need resizing to insert in the forums, if that is needed just Check the box for resize image.

2)As soon as you press Host it! the site redirect you to a new page after it has finished uploading. Uncheck the box that says Include details.
Now always have in mind that our forum uses mainly the links on the:
Hotling for Forums (1) and Thumbnail for Forums (1) (you might not be able to see this if the file you upload was too small).

3)Good now keep this window open and we will resume our tutorial.



Let's go to the next three buttons
Before you press the go back to imageshack and Copy all the line in the Box that says
Hotlink for forums (1), good. Now press the Insert Image button and new box will appear, clear it and paste the link you just Copy from imageshack, finally press ok and your done.


If you want to see if the Insert image worked, just press the Preview Post button.

Our next button is the Insert Hyperlink. This function allows the user to insert to his reply box a button/link that other users could press and be redirect to the place you want to show them.

now Copy the Website Link

Come back to the forum and press the Hyperlink, a new Box appear that asks from you to Insert the URL from the Website. Clear the box, Paste our Link and press OK. A new Box will appear that would Optionally add a title to your Link. This is a very cool option because instead putting a huge Link you can minimize the space by a single word.
So into the Optionally box write Winter's Verge and press OK. Youre done and this will appear as soon as you Reply or Preview.

Anyone that will click here will be redirected to the Winter's Verge forum.


The third, envelope like button, is a simple way to insert your Email and Optionally add a title. Works exactly like the Insert Hyperlink button.
For example:
My Email is Stefanos_psill@hotmail.com because i don't want this to be like this, i will press the button, insert my email press OK and into the new Box that will appear i will write Simply the Best and OK. Here are the results. A new fancy way to redirect someone to my email heh

We will not give guidelines for the next three buttons you probably never use them.

Now the final three buttons:
Our forum allows the user to Import and insert a Video player from the following links:

You Tube
Google Videos
Metacafe

How to insert You Tube videos:
First Click this
it will take you to one of our Songs, To you i Sail Tonight. Now in the right side of the video there is some information

Highlight and copy the link on the URL box and come back to the Reply box of the forum.
Then paste the link,(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9IQ0loNCm) highlight it and press the Add a Video from You Tube button. The Forum will now automatically create a YouTube video player.



How to insert Google Videos:
First Click This
it will direct you to the Water4Gas video, simply Copy the main link http://www. etc etc and come back to the Reply box.
Now Paste the link, and remove anything behind the = (including the = ). Highlight it and press the Add a Video from Google Video button.
The Forum will now automatically create a Google video player.



How to Insert Metacafe Videos:


First Click here
it will take you to to a video on how to create a simple USB air-conditioning unit (sweet!), simply Copy the main link http://www. etc etc and come back to the Reply box.
Now Paste the link, and remove the stuff before the numbers in the link, as shown below:

without the trailing slashes /.

Nearly there, now all you have to do is add a .swf to the end of the link, so as to have something like this:

Finished! now simply highlight it and press the Add a Video from Metacafe button.
The Forum will now automatically create a Metacafe video player.
